Vishay recently launched its new automotive-grade IHDF edge-wound through-hole inductors, featuring a high saturation current of up to 230A and a maximum DCR of 1.1mΩ to reduce power losses and enhance efficiency. Utilizing ferrite core technology, the device operates at temperatures as high as +155°C and meets the rigorous mechanical shock and vibration requirements of AEC-Q200 certification through flat packaging, while minimizing board height and saving space.
The rated current of the IHDF-1300AE-1A inductor is 75% higher than similar ferrite-based solutions, reaching 72A, with a saturation current of up to 230A, making it suitable for high-current, high-temperature automotive systems such as electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) onboard chargers. With a working voltage of up to 500VDC, the device is applicable in DC/DC converters, inverters, motors, and switch noise suppression.
Moreover, Vishay offers customization options for installation orientation, termination type, nominal inductance, and isolation voltage rating based on customer requirements. To mitigate the risk of whisker growth, the inductor employs a hot-dipped tin-plating process and complies with RoHS regulations, ensuring environmental sustainability.
In summary, this new automotive-grade IHDF edge-wound through-hole inductor from Vishay features high performance, reliability, and environmental friendliness, making it suitable for various automotive electronic systems and poised to deliver advanced and dependable solutions to the automotive electronics industry.
