Recently, Intel and Arm entered into a partnership to jointly promote the "Emerging Companies Support Programme". The programme is designed to support start-ups in the development of Arm-architecture SoCs using Intel's 18A process.
Under the partnership, Intel and Arm will support startups with intellectual property (IP) and manufacturing, as well as provide financial assistance to foster innovation and growth. The startups will focus on developing Arm architecture SoCs for a wide range of devices and servers, and will leverage Intel's foundry manufacturing capabilities to bring products to market.
The collaboration builds on a partnership agreement between Intel and Arm last April to help designers build low-power SoCs based on Intel's 18A process, a programme that gives start-ups the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality by leveraging leading-edge Arm SoCs and Intel's global manufacturing capabilities, according to Stuart Penn, head of Intel's foundry business.
This partnership will stimulate innovation in the electronic components industry, create more opportunities for start-ups and drive the continued advancement of chip technology. At the same time, it is also an important outcome of the cooperation between Intel and Arm in the foundry field, which is expected to bring more high-quality chip products to the market.
