Vishay Introduces New Knob Potentiometers to Improve Efficiency and Reduce Costs in Industrial and Audio Applications
Vishay, a leader in semiconductors and sensors, recently announced two new panel potentiometers, the Vishay P16F and PA16F, that combine knob and IP67 sealing to simplify the design of industrial and audio applications, and create more value for users by reducing costs. The P16F and PA16F are known for their combination of knob and IP67 sealing.
The P16F and PA16F potentiometers are characterised by a high dielectric strength of up to 5000 VAC and power ratings of 1 W and 0.5 W respectively at +40°C. The potentiometers integrate the knob and faceplate in a single assembly, eliminating the need for the user to purchase and assemble the knob separately, reducing costs and simplifying installation. In addition, the compact design reduces the clearance required behind the panel to <15mm, further improving space utilisation.
In terms of application areas, the PA16F features a conductive plastic resistive element for audio applications, while the metal-ceramic P16F is more suitable for scenarios such as industrial motor drives, welding equipment, HVAC, lighting systems, and control panels. Both potentiometers meet IP67 sealing standards to ensure stable operation in harsh environments.
In addition, Vishay offers a wide range of customisation options, such as braking and switching functions, knob markings, resistance values, wires and connectors, to meet individual user needs. Metal knobs are also available upon request. In terms of quality, the P16F and PA16F are tested in accordance with CECC 41000 or IEC 60393-1 standards, guaranteeing reliable and stable product performance.
